Bloor Homes is developing plans for a new, sustainable landscape-led community on land to the south of Weaverham.
Cheshire West and Chester Council has identified a significant housing shortfall and, through its recent Local Plan consultation, highlighted the Northwich area as a key sustainable location for growth. The consultation identified a need to accommodate at least 5,000 dwellings in Northwich, with Weaverham South identified as a key site to meet this need.
In response, we are developing a preliminary vision for the site including:
- New Homes: Around 900-1,100 high-quality, sustainable homes, including 45% affordable housing for local people.
- Nature & Green Space: Extensive new public open spaces, including a 8.5ha nature reserve.
- Community Facilities: A new Community Hub and potential land safeguarded for educational use.
- Connectivity: 2.3km of enhanced Public Right of Way and new footpaths and cycleways to link the site with the existing village.
NEXT STEPS
We are currently in the early stages of developing our plans and are committed to meaningfully engaging the local community. We intend to hold a full public consultation in the next few months. At that stage, we will share detailed plans and invite the local community to provide feedback to help shape the vision.
